WeCom is an enterprise communication platform developed by Tencent and is the business equivalent of China’s ubiquitous messaging app, WeChat.
Many financial institutions have joined WeCom in order to offer employees an effective way to communicate with their customers over WeChat. The platform offers a native WeChat experience and full access to the entire set of rich communication options included in the robust WeChat ecosystem.
Here’s the rub: WeCom offers more than some can handle.
Many financial institutions have traditionally only allowed a limited mode of communication — written communication. And so, while the texting capabilities of WeCom are supported, some WeChat features are not.
The main challenge is the built-in support for voice calls because while most archiving platforms can handle text messages sent and even attached files, voice is an entirely different beast, which requires special handling.
That’s where we come in.
Through integrations with some of the world’s most popular voice monitoring/capturing platforms, we are pleased to share that LeapXpert now enables seamless handling of WeChat-originated voice calls.
With this integration, audio files are automatically detected and streamed to voice recording platforms when needed. This allows the platforms to process WeChat-originated calls as if they came in over traditional voice infrastructure.
The upside is clear – we allow our customers to continue to use existing platforms while adopting and enjoying the newer and exciting communication channels. We like to call it Responsible Business Communication.
